An increase in profanity (foul language) is indicative of a decline in society's morals.

For:

In today's society there is a major increase in profanity. More and more teens, even younger children are being exposed to profanity almost everywhere they are. Our morals have changed, as well as how we tend to carry ourselves when speaking. It is now part of out daily vocabulary and nobody seems to think anything of it; whether they are in a job interview or may be talking to adults, some type of swear is bound to slip out. Because we are so used to saying these words in everyday sentences we often use them with no conscious thought. It is not so professional and or responsible to be using these derogatory words. They are being takin advantaged of and used cruelly. Children are being exposed to these words way to early, by hearing their parents or someone in general casually saying them. Is swearing necessary? No. I really do not think that it is. Once you say that first swear...it can and will be addicting. First, is does not make us sound smart and second, I think that it is taking the easy way out and instead of saying, "I'm really displeased and vulnerable" and describe how we feel, versus, "I'm fu**ing pi**ed." That is not the way we should/need to address ourselves. Back in the "olden" days there was no foul language not even in movies, books or in conversations, well not as much as today. But that has all changed. Today, our society is filled with bad language and is in every DIRECTION. Now these "words" are associated in T.V, Games, Sexual relations, (calling people Douche Bags), and in things that we read. So much of what we speak now compared to years before proves that the morals in our society are declining as each day goes on.

Against:

Come on it is a form of language! This is a good way to help release aggression without sounding "corny" or "childish". Profanity has always been around. Every generation has used the language...and can say that it is nice to have. Now a days , it's about how much you can swear or the "cool" swear of the day! It is fun! There is no avoiding that fact of not swearing...it's going to be here until it dies out. Which I do not think that it will. When speaking to others, they are used as descriptive words, "She is such a bi**h" or "Man that car is the S**t." Yes, cursing has become the new thing and is use in more ways, but time is just carrying on like it should. Nothing is going to stay the same. Change is good. When voicing opinions, profanity most times is used when a point of some sort is not getting across like frustration. I don't know how many times I have stubbed my toes on random things, but I do know that saying some bad words do help. Take a look. Nothing is going to be the way we want it. Sometimes we just need to look past the bad and look at the good in somethings that seem impossible for good qualities.
